About Language Legends Education

Languages have always been a big part of my life. I grew up watching my mum learn Czech so she could communicate with our relatives in Czechia, and seeing her practise and make progress inspired my own love of languages from an early age.

I studied Hispanic Studies at the University of Sheffield before completing my PGCE in Secondary Spanish and French. 

🥐 I later returned to French as an adult learner, working hard to bring it in line with my Spanish. That experience has really shaped how I teach — I understand what it’s like to learn as an adult, and I bring that empathy, encouragement, and fun into every lesson.

🌴 I love travelling in France and Spain, and I’m always watching films, TV, and listening to music in both languages. I’m passionate about bringing language and culture to life in my lessons — through idiomatic expressions, cultural celebrations, and real-world connections that make learning meaningful.

  After 20 years as a classroom teacher, most of which as a Head of Languages and examiner I launched Language Legends Education in November 2023 with my first beginners’ courses in Spanish and French for adults. 

Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength — developing new courses and languages and building a loyal customer base.

I’m so excited to share my love of languages and culture with others. When you join a Language Legends course, you’re not just learning a language — you’re joining a welcoming community of like-minded learners. I love seeing the friendships that form and the encouragement and support that everyone gives each other along the way.

 "I first became interested in Spanish when I began studying it in secondary school and this passion grew further when I continued it at university. As part of my degree, I spent a year on Erasmus in the beautiful city of A Coruña, in Galicia which gave me the chance to fully immerse myself in Spanish culture and language.
After finishing university, I moved to Malaga where I taught English for four years, enjoying the vibrant Andalucian lifestyle and deepening my love for the language. During the summer months I taught Spanish students in Ireland and really enjoyed that immersive experience.
For the past four years I have been teaching Spanish in Liverpool sharing not only the language but also the rich culture and traditions of Spain. I’m so excited to bring my experience and enthusiasm to these classes – Spanish has opened so many doors to me, and I can’t wait to help others discover the same joy in learning it!" 

"I first became interested in German when travelling with my grandad through Bavaria via motorbike. I immediately fell in love with the culture and the language and when I went on to study it in school as part of a very small class, I felt even more passionate about showing more people how beautiful the language is as I became aware of how little it was taught in England. After teaching in Germany for a year, visiting the beautiful forests and welcoming mountainous villages of Bavaria, and studying the history of the country and how it came to be at University, I am more in love with the language than ever. Who wouldn't love a language that never says 'goodbye' but 'until we meet again'?"

 "I have always loved languages since school, studying French and Spanish at university. Languages have given me the opportunity to study, live and work in various cities and towns in Spain and France, including Paris, Toulouse and Pézenas. I am a total Francophile and love the French joie de vivre, philosophical discussion and, of course, the food and climate of the South of France.
Back in the UK, I have helped students improve their French and Spanish skills at various levels for conversation, travel, exam preparation and business.
My favourite part of tutoring languages is seeing students grow and achieve things they didn't think were possible and I'm now excited to be part of the Language Legends team."
